La Marie-Rose 6a

Bas Cuvier, Fontainebleau

High Slab Slopers

A nice easy slab with big incut holds. Maybe a bit soft for the grade, but I hear that it has some history behind it, so give it a try if you're passing by... hold on? That was the tech department description!! In reality this is NAILS! far and away the hardest 6a in the forest. It only remains that grade because of the history behind it. With all the wear over the years this has become truely slippy and even harder if you're less than 5ft5.

The only way to climb this is to concentrate on your feet. Get them as high as possible, and forget how bad the holds feel. Climb by levitation and belief!

How to get down???

Fabiola, August 6, 2021

You have two options, equally sketchy: You can chimney down as far as possible using the boulder to the right, then drop. Or you can take the leap onto that right boulder and (presuming you survive) casually walk off the other side of that.

Getting up is almost as hard!
